I cut my welts the same way as my fabric . So what ever way your fabric is running front to back, I cut my welts across. So i don't cut on the bias. If I cut up the role as you un-role it. I cut my welts across the role. If I cut railroaded or sideways on the role. I cut my welts sideways on the role. The key is for the welting/piping fabric will run up and down or side to side the same way as my seat or back cushion fabric. across the front.
