Thanks for watching.. Nicky asked: How often do I clean my pillow? And how do I clean my pillow? Answer: Did you know? Your pillow doubles in weight over a span of time from absorbing dust, mold, bacteria, allergens, and dead skin when we sleep on them. To test if you need a new pillow: Fold your pillow in half and if it won't bounce back, get rid of it. If it springs to life when folded over, it's still good. Best practices: Wash your pillows 3x a year and replace them once every 2 years. Note: You can wash polyester and feather-filled pillows the same way. For memory or silk pillows, washed them separately and follow product care instructions. To clean your pillows: Use a gentle detergent that is ideally scent-free. Press out as much air as possible before loading it into the washer. For top load washers, do 2 at a time for balance. Front loads don't have an agitator so you can do 1-2 per ...

What I said was true. Sammy is a boys name
To think you created an account just to post comments like that. Her name is probably Samantha and it's been shortened by friends and family to Sammy.
On a more relevant note: All my pillows need replacing. I'm pretty sure they were broken when I bought them!
Sammy is a boy's name. Your clearly not an expert in creating a nickname for yourself when there are so many famous men called Sammy.
You need to put dryer sheets in too
Then you have your solution!
It really depends on the washer - I am not sure! I think when you are doing larger loads like pillows, you can fill with less water, try 1/4 next time.
Thanks!
Wow, finally some useful and to the point videos. I could handle more content, but then, the 3 minute MTV lifestyle hasn't COMPLETELY taken over my ability to concentrate.
Thanks Melissa. I could do without all the sound effects, but as someone who has worked both with film and sound editing, it's just one of my "thangs." We all have them. *shrug* Perhaps lowering the volume on the effects would make it less bothersome.

wash a couple times a year? replace every few years?? lol i knew i was a clean freak but c'mon. i replace my pillows twice a year you can get hotel quality pillows for 20 bucks each at almost any retail store. i myself use two pillows so thats 80 bucks a year, hmmm not a big deal
(contd.). ..I leave it be. I come back from doing something else, and the washer overflowed. The washing machine works fine. How much water do you recommend. I guess I added too much water.
Hello Melissa. I just saw your video about cleaning the pillows. I purchased two pillows a little while ago, and I tried washing them once. I have a top loader, older top loader that is, and I have the option of indicating how much water I want in it. I'm sure all top loaders have this option. Anyways, I took out the air from both pillows (not much to begin with) and folded them, folded them, and put them into the washer. I set the dial for the amount of water to about, 2/4. Warm water.
I loved the Mary Catherine Gallaghar reference :D Great cleaning info too! Thanks!
I know, it's kind of creepy when you think about it. Hope yours are nice and clean now!
Thanks!
Why thank you! I can indeed cook and we actually both clean the house. We also run a company, maintain a blog and film our videos. Team work!
